EX Deoxys

EX Deoxys is the seventh expansion in the EX Series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game and focuses heavily on the mysterious Mythical Pokémon Deoxys and powerful legendary Pokémon from the Hoenn region.

The set was released alongside the popularity of the Pokémon movie Destiny Deoxys, which helped boost interest in the Mythical Pokémon and its different forms. As a result, Deoxys appears multiple times throughout the set in different variations.

EX Deoxys also features several powerful Pokémon-ex cards, which were a defining mechanic of the EX era. These cards feature significantly stronger Pokémon with powerful attacks and higher HP, but when they are Knocked Out the opponent takes two Prize cards instead of one.

Another highlight of the set is the inclusion of extremely rare Gold Star Pokémon, which feature shiny versions of Pokémon and are among the rarest cards printed during the EX era. These cards were incredibly difficult to pull from booster packs and quickly became highly sought after by collectors.

Among the most iconic cards in the set is Rayquaza ex 102/107, which became the defining chase card due to both the popularity of Rayquaza and the card’s powerful gameplay abilities.

Because of the presence of Gold Star cards and legendary Pokémon from the Hoenn region, EX Deoxys remains one of the most collectible sets from the early Pokémon TCG generations.
