Fusion Strike

Fusion Strike is the eighth main expansion of the Sword & Shield era and is one of the largest Pokémon Trading Card Game sets ever released. The expansion focuses on the Fusion Strike battle style, one of three battle mechanics introduced during the Sword & Shield generation.

Fusion Strike Pokémon emphasise teamwork and synergy, with many cards designed to support each other through abilities and attack effects. This mechanic was introduced alongside the other battle styles Single Strike and Rapid Strike, creating new strategic deck-building options in competitive play.

The set heavily features Mew, which became the central Pokémon of the Fusion Strike strategy. Cards such as Mew VMAX 114/264 and Genesect V 185/264 formed the foundation of one of the strongest competitive decks of the Sword & Shield era.

Fusion Strike also includes a wide range of Pokémon from many different regions, including fan favourites such as Gengar, Espeon, Boltund, Inteleon and Celebi.

One of the most sought-after cards in the set is Espeon VMAX Alternate Art 270/264, which features a beautifully illustrated scene of Espeon sleeping peacefully on a rooftop surrounded by other Pokémon. This stunning artwork quickly made it one of the most desirable alternate art cards of the Sword & Shield era.

Because of its enormous card list and popular alternate art cards, Fusion Strike remains one of the most ambitious expansions from the Sword & Shield generation.
