Hidden Fates

Hidden Fates is a special expansion released during the Sun & Moon era of the Pokémon Trading Card Game and quickly became one of the most popular modern Pokémon sets ever produced. The set is best known for its massive Shiny Vault subset, which contains dozens of shiny Pokémon cards.

The main set features a relatively small card list centred around legendary Pokémon such as Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno, which appear together on the powerful Tag Team card Moltres & Zapdos & Articuno-GX 44/68.

However, the true highlight of Hidden Fates is the Shiny Vault, a large subset of shiny Pokémon cards identified by the SV numbering system. These cards feature alternate-coloured shiny versions of Pokémon and were extremely exciting pulls from booster packs.

Among the most famous cards from the set is Charizard-GX SV49/SV94, a shiny black Charizard card that instantly became the defining chase card of the expansion. Due to its rarity and the popularity of Charizard, it quickly became one of the most valuable cards from the Sun & Moon era.

Hidden Fates was released exclusively through special collection products rather than traditional booster boxes. Products such as the Elite Trainer Box, tins and premium collections helped drive huge demand among collectors.

Because of the massive shiny Pokémon lineup and the iconic shiny Charizard card, Hidden Fates remains one of the most beloved Pokémon TCG sets ever released.
